Choose a partner whom you wish to work with over the next three classes. Work together to ensure the following tasks are completed properly and that grammar and spelling are correct. Your project is to be handed in with a cover page and table of contents. Be creative and have fun!

1. Create an original myth that explains a natural phenomenon. For example, tell why the sky is blue, why tigers have stripes, why people walk on two legs etc. Give your myth an interesting title and include an illustration. Half a page to a page in length is fine. (6 marks)

2. Find a myth which is not Greek or Roman. List the title, country of origin, what it explains, and summarize it in about _ page (5 marks).

3. Who do you think is the most interesting female in Greek mythology? Briefly describe her in a paragraph and give at least three reasons why you like her. (5 marks)

4. Find three references to Greek or Roman mythology in Toronto businesses. Explain the significance of the name (what is its origin? What qualities are suggested by the name?). Eg – Neptune Restaurant: This name suggests that this particular restaurant serves seafood because in Roman mythology Neptune is the god of the sea. (6 marks)

5. Explain the origin and meaning of any four of the words or phrases on the attached sheet. You should relate the word or phrase to the original myth and explain what it means today. (8 marks)
